Easter Egg Hunt

We woke up to a beautiful sunny day only to discover it was a chilly 32 degrees, burrrr. That wasn't going to stop us, so we bundled up and headed to the park for an egg hunt. I didn't quite realize how cold it was until we were standing there waiting for the hunt to begin. My hands were freezing, but Amelia's were warm and she didn't seem all that bothered.

This is the second year that we have gone to this park for the egg hunt. They seperate out the little kids, so Amelia was in the 1 to 3 year olds. It was so nice, Amelia could go at her own pace and she wasn't mowed over by the older ones. They are let loose to collect 10 eggs and then they hold up their hands. Once everyone has 10 eggs, it is free for all. They all walk away with plenty of candy.

Milli would pick up two eggs, deposit them in her basket and then sign and ask me "more?" I would tell her yes and she would go pick up a couple more. She would again ask "more?" Such a polite, gentle little thing.

It was fun to see her get the idea of the egg hunt. I held her basket and she would head out to retrieve the eggs. Last year, she really didn't get the whole egg hunt thing. I can't wait until next year.

We had a lot of fun and met up with Auntie Melissa and cousins Collin, Camille, and Corbin. The cousins knew what this egg thing was all about, there was no hesitation.

It didn't take her long to figure out there was candy in them there eggs. It also didn't take long for daddy to discover her candy. I feel sorry for these little ones. The kids go to play and the parents stay and eat the candy.

I'm with Spencer with the candy, two for you, one for me... There has to be some perks to parenthood, right?!
