Grandpa Warren

One of the main reasons we headed done to Florida was to visit Grandpa Warren and Grandma Karin. The last time we were in Florida was 2005 and pre-Amelia. Grandpa Warren came to visit March 2006 right after Amelia was born and that was the last time he has seen her. So from cute baby to 2-year old, Grandpa Warren was in for fun visit.

Getting reacquainted. Amelia was a little shy at first, but of course it didn't take her all that long before she was quite comfortable and back to her regular self.

Amelia especially loved helping grandpa feed the birds and squirrels.

Such a big helper...dumping the peanuts on the ground for the squirrels and the "Wash Bears." Wash Bears is what they call raccoons in Germany. We didn't get to see any, they seemed to like coming out in the early morning hours. But Amelia made sure there was plenty of food for them.

Amelia and grandpa going for a walk around the house. Amelia was really good, but could only handle grandpa and daddy talking for so long.

So on their walk, they stopped to smell the beautiful flowers and step on the bugs.

So, grandma Karin is a huge fan of Barbies and is quite the collector. She was gracious enough to get out this huge Barbie house and give Amelia two Barbies and a Barbie dog to play with. But the best discovery was a Barbie Ferrari Car. The car didn't work, but I don't think that mattered much to Amelia. She was in high Heaven the minute she sat down.

It didn't take her long to discover the phone. I think Spencer and I are in trouble; she looks all too comfortable.

Grandpa wanted to make sure that he got a picture of he and Amelia driving. Amelia didn't object to that pose. She loves being behind the wheel.

All of us had the best time just relaxing and catching up. Amelia would play with the Barbies and stuffed animals, Warren and Spencer would talk about all sorts of subjects, and Karin and I would sit and listen and add input when needed. Most of our evenings we would go over to Warren and Karin's and have dinner and then just enjoy the evening. We miss having them so close and can't wait until we go back. I defiantly see us going back especially since Spencer seems to really love Florida.
