Day at the Park

Jeri has this great park just a couple blocks from their house. We woke up Saturday morning and walked to the park. It was such a gorgeous day; warm in the mid 80's with a slight breeze. Upon walking across the road Amelia tripped and fell and earned herself her first skinned knee. She was a brave soul, she stood up and shook it off. After all, we were heading to the park. Notice her cute camo hat? I forgot one. Leaving cold Boise, a hat for outside play was nowhere on my radar. Wyatt was nice enough to share his hat with Amelia.

Two little munchkins at the top of the kid slide. Notice how Wyatt is barley hanging on and Amelia has a death grip on the bar? My brave little one. It didn't take her too long before she was more than comfortable on the slide.

At this point she was more confident and didn't want Jeri behind her. She wanted to do it.

No sooner was she down the slide, then she was scurrying over to the steps to start the process over again.

It would crack me up. The steps were kinda high and her little legs couldn't quite do it, so she ended up having to put her hand down to help her. Well there was sand on that step and each time she would put her hand down, she would have to stand up and dust the sand off. She didn't like it on her hands.

My cute little girl. Well Wyatt had had enough of the little kid slide and took off running for the big kid playground. To cut the distance, Wyatt took off across the sand. Amelia saw him and followed suit until she reached the end of the foamy, bouncy material the slide sits on and hit the sand. She came to a screeching halt. There was no getting her to walk out into the sea of sand. She wasn't going to have it. We had to head back to the sidewalk and walk clear around to the big kid slide. It takes her a while to warm up to new walking surfaces. It took her forever to walk on grass. They are little, but have their own ways.
